On the 1st of October Danny van Dongen joined our team

I’m pleased to announce that Danny joined our team, let me introduce him to you:

Danny has been working in the photonics industry since 2011. After college, Technical Physics / Photonics at The Hague University (formerly TH Rijswijk), he worked at one of the world-renowned optics and laser companies, responsible for customers in the BeNeLux. In recent years he was employed by a distributor. He gained his first sales experience in the MediaMarkt, where he worked during his studies.

Good change you will meet him during one of the events this autumn;

  • Precision Fair (Precisiebeurs) – 16 & 17th November
  • Led Event 2016 – Mechelen Belgium – 30 November
  • Led Event 2016 – ‘s Hertogenbosch The Netherlands – 1 December

Danny will join the company in our recently opened new office, feel free to call for an appointment or drop by our new office at:
Mercurion 26 A
6903 PZ  Zevenaar

Our phone and web address are not changed.

Gigahertz Optik

Supplying measurement solutions to LED chip makers, to manufacturers of LED based products and for testing LEDs when they are in use forms a significant part of Gigahertz-Optik’s product range.  It is an area where we offer an extensive range of high quality products with much embedded expertise.

To assist with the marketing of these products they have recently launched a new web page intended to help visitors find the right products from the range of solutions we offer.

variable attenuators for linearly polarized laser beam
from Eksma Optics, with high performance optics for Nd host laser applications at 1040–1070 nm range and femtosecond applications with broadband Ti:Sapphire and Yb:KGW/KYW laser pulses.

We have updated the design of our 990-0070990-0071 and 990-0072 variable attenuators for linearly polarized laser beam (and their motorized versions) making it an even more compact solution, which is easy to integrate into your optical system.

Variable Attenuator for Linearly Polarized Laser Beam

Aperture diameter – 22 mm

Variable Attenuator for Femtosecond and Nd:YAG Laser Pulses 990-0072

  • Divides laser beam into two parallel beams of manually adjustable intensity ratio
  • Large dynamic range
  • Transmitted beam shift ~1 mm
  • High optical damage threshold

This variable attenuator/beamsplitter consists of UV FS Thin Film Brewster Type Polarizer diameter 50.8 mm, which reflect s-polarized light while transmitting p-polarized light, that is housed into Beamsplitter Mount 840-0056-12 and a quartz Zero Order (optically contacted) Half Waveplate diameter 25.4 mm (for femtosecond applications) or Zero-Order Air-Spaced Half Waveplate (for high power applications) housed in rotating Polarizer Holder 840-0180-A1, placed in the incident linearly polarized laser beam.

The intensity ratio of those two separated and different polarized beams may be continuously varied without alteration of other beam parameters by rotating the waveplate. The intensity of either exit beam, or their intensity ratio, can be controlled over a wide dynamic range. P-polarization could be selected for maximum transmission, or high-purity s-polarization could be reflected when maximum attenuation of the transmitted beam takes place.

840-0056-12 Kinematic Mount allows to adjust angle of incidence (AOI) of the thin film Brewster type polarizers by ±4.5° and to get the maximum extinction contrast. The mounts are on rods, rod holders and movable base 820-0090.

The optical axis height from the table top can be adjusten in the range of 78-88 mm. Other height can be offered as custom changing the standard rods and rod holders into higher.

Motorized Variable Attenuator for Linearly Polarized Laser Beam 990-0071M

Motorized Variable Attenuator for Linearly Polarized Laser Beam

This Motorized Variable Attenuator / Beamsplitter consists of special design Opto-mechanical Adapter for Polarizer at 56° 840-0117A or 840-0118A and Precision Opto-mechanical Holder 840-0193. Thin Film Brewster type polarizer, which reflects s-polarized light at 56° while transmitting p-polarized light, is housed into the Adapter for Polarizer at 56°. Quartz Half Waveplates are housed in Motorized Rotation Stage 960-0161. The intensity ratio of those two beams may be continuously varied without alteration of other beam parameters by rotating the waveplate.

The intensity of either exit beam, or their intensity ratio, can be controlled over a wide dynamic range. P-polarization could be selected for maximum transmission, or high-purity s-polarization could be reflected when maximum attenuation of the transmitted beam takes place. The holder 840-0193 allows to adjust angle of incidence of the Thin Film Brewster type polarizer by ±2° and to get the maximum polarization contrast.
